Healthcare Services Practice Manager

Our Client is a large, highly regarded, regional business, with a long history and strong reputation in providing a comprehensive range of dedicated healthcare services to consulting Doctors, individuals and families across its 3 key sites within the Ballarat community, for more than 75 years.  

The Opportunity

With continuing growth and a high demand for its services, an exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and service focused practice leader to join the organisation as the Practice Manager and help take this successful business to the next level.

Reporting to the General Manager and with responsibility for 6 direct reports, this pivotal role will include 

  • Providing the Reception Supervisor with guidance in all areas of their duties
  • Leading, supporting and mentoring the Reception Team
  • Providing oversight of daily business operations and requirements across your designated site, to ensure that high quality care and an exceptional standard of customer service is provided at all times
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels to maintain services to consulting doctors and patients 
  • Assisting the Practice Coordinator with doctor appointment schedules to ensure booking rules are up-to-date and being applied to by reception staff
  • Ensuring new Reception staff are inducted and receive on the job training

The Right Person

  • Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated experience in a senior medical practice role
  • Advanced computer skills and experience performing a wide range of administrative tasks
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to resolve problems constructively, motivate others and effectively liaise with a diverse range of patients in a caring and supportive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities and organise own work and that of direct reports
  • Experience in maintaining and operating in environments where information is sensitive, personal or confidential in nature
  • Ability to manage, support and develop a team, with commitment to accuracy and working to deadlines
  • Certificate IV in Business or similar discipline and previous experience working with Zedmed will be highly regarded
