This dynamic business is currently looking for a passionate Child Safety Officer, with a strong strategic and continuous improvement focus and a proven track record in working in complex, highly regulated environments, to join its Warragul team in a full-time, ongoing capacity.
Reporting to the Director through the Executive Manager: Industrial Relations/Human Resources, this newly created role will see you contributing to the development, monitoring and continual improvement of Child Safety, providing a safe, inclusive, empowering and nurturing environment for all children and young people attending primary and secondary schools managed and operated by this multifaceted business.

The Right Person
The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and proven, prior experience in developing, aligning, supporting and maintaining the application of safeguarding practices, policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Detailed knowledge and experience in the practical application of legislative and regulatory requirements and an ability to provide timely and accurate advice/support/insights to managers and the broader workforce are also essential requirements of this pivotal role.
Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are a key requirement of this role to ensure appropriate safeguarding support is provided to employees regarding concerns or allegations of child safety issues.
Previous experience in Education or Child Safety environments will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Record Check and Employee Working with Children Check. In addition, the successful application must be able to provide acceptable evidence of being fully vaccinated (boosted) with a COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption in accordance with the Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Facilities) Order 2022 as in force at the relevant time.
